There are times when I forget that I am fortunate to know how students, teachers and workers typically respond to work around sexual diversity and homophobia in schools. Despite there being plenty of cause for concern, I have found even more cause for hope. Though explored further in other sections of this website - particularly in relation to formal evaluation of student's attitude change to gay men and lesbians - here are just a few comments on the Pride & Prejudice program to get you started…

Students
"I now have more respect for gay people"
"Before I was ignorant but now I understand"
"It was a good experience because now I know what they are like"
"It showed me lots of people around are gay and made us more aware"
"Not much has changed. I never hated gays anyway"

Teachers
"A simple approach to what often seems a complex and difficult problem"
"Practical stuff you could use in your classroom"
"It was focused and contextualised"
"Very worthwhile - changes the way the topic will be implemented at my school
Thank you. I have been waiting for years for someone to do this. I appreciate it and I'm sure a lot of students and staff out there will as well!"

Workers
"I'm inspired once again, just as many others are, its doable, professional. I think it can really go towards changing attitudes and behaviors. Thank you"
"Insightful, realistic, specific to young people"
"Exceptional - sound evidence, examples and clear language"

Principal
"It is the first decent resource to address an issue of fundamental justice. We are proud to have been involved in some small way. It will be a privilege to attend the opening…Well Done. What you have done will benefit so many young people and is a very intelligent and effective way of addressing some of the issues. Best Wishes"
